I love photographing Grads! It's a nice change of pace from my usual family photo sessions, and I love being able to document this milestone. This beautiful young woman wanted a timeless look for her senior photo session so I immediately knew I wanted to have her portrait session on the coast. We opted for my special beach spot location near Saint Augustine Beach, Florida and was pleasantly surprised to get the most beautiful, colorful pastel skies that evening. Here on the beach, it can sometimes be flat light in the evening so I was glad to see those gorgeous pastel hues for Jenna's photo session.

Her choice in clothing was perfect for the beach too! You always want a timeless look in an iconic place like the coast, so I regularly recommend that my clients dress in neutral colors. Neutrals will never go out of style, and they don't distract from the natural beauty of the surroundings - that beautiful big open sky and that gorgeous shoreline.

One of the things I like to focus on most when photographing a grad is their personality! It's all about them for these sessions so I always like to highlight anything that makes them unique. I think we captured real emotion in these images of Jenna.

After Jenna's mom received the images from this session she wrote me the most beautiful note - telling me how Jenna had been having a hard time lately and that these portraits reminded her of just how beautiful she was inside and out. That right there, THAT, is the reason I love what I do. It's so rewarding when you get feedback like that. For most photographers, it is the reason you do what you do.
