Family photo sessions at sunrise are my favorite time to shoot, especially on the beach! The light, the cooler weather, which here in St. Augustine is a huge plus! You get an early start on the day, there is less wind, which means less humidity for your hair ladies (just sayin...). Also, the sand is still in pristine condition and there are hardly ever any people. Why not get up to greet the sun with your kiddos? They're in better moods, and most times people say "Why don't we do this more often?". I've visited Hawai'i several times and it's a "thing" there for sure, and it should be here! Let's bring this to the east coast. <3

I once posted a question on my Instagram asking people if they'd be up for greeting the rising sun for a photo session and you would be surprised at just how many people would - 85% of respondents to be exact! It goes to show what we parents would do for perfect portraits!

For this session, I absolutely love...LOVE...Mamas clothing choice for not only herself but also for her children. I posted a few sneak peeks from this session on my Instagram and got so many questions about their clothing. They're vintage (Grandma kept them from when Mama was little). Timeless neutrals are always the way to go and the vintage vibe this family sunrise session on the coast gives makes me swoon. If I were to coordinate a portrait session at dawn for my own family this is the type of style I would gravitate towards.
