This sweet family did so well at their beach session! Mom is so photogenic, and has such a love for her children; you can see it in her expressions and the way she photographed. When working on the coast, sometimes wind and rain can play a factor in added difficulty, not to mention your kiddos moods, so it's important to maintain a positive attitude and outlook during the session and trust in the process. This Mama did just that, not to mention nailing the outfits for her family! I love her casual maxi and the way it blew in the breeze. Maxis are my favorite at beach photo sessions. They still lend for a flowing and romantic look, but they're also forgiving when chasing after the littles and even rolling on the sand. As for the littles, loose and flowing clothing works well too. I love big sis's dress. It reminds me a little of Wendy from Peter Pan, doesn't it? Casual yet timeless. Twenty years from now your family portraits will look the same as they did the day they were captured.

These ones from this session are so light and airy. Sometimes you don't get that with a black and white image, they tend to lean towards a darker vibe, but even black and white images will appear light and airy often at sessions on the coast, with the way the sun backlights them. Taking away color from an image helps the viewer to focus on the emotion of their faces. With each portrait session I present to my clients, I always like to include a few black and whites images to round out the set and give an added variety.
