I've had the pleasure of photographing this sweet family since their adorable little Piper was a newborn, and they continue to get sweeter every year! We've done our portrait sessions on location everywhere from the family's Atlantic Beach home to the beach! For this session, we decided to circle back to the beach since it is such a favorite activity for them.

Being a photographer who specializes in first year milestones, I always take pleasure in watching the amazing transformation a child goes through during their first year. Form belly to those first steps, it never gets old documenting a child's first portraits. And although I love all of my sessions, you haven't lived until you've experienced the energy this little one has! Piper is truly the definition of an active toddler!

One of my favorite parts about this session were the black and white images towards the end of mom and dad. Even though you're new parents and your little one takes the show for the photo session, it's so important to exist in photographs for yourself, and be sure you're actually in them!

I also loved the mint green hue from the pier at this location. I think it lent perfectly to the colors mom selected for their family portrait session! A little tip, green and pink and muted jewel tones look fabulous on the coast! So the next time you're preparing your family for your coastal portrait session, be sure to visit using those colors, incorporated with some texture, for the perfect portrait session outfits.
