I could have spent the entire morning talking to this incredible woman! Sunrise sessions on the coast are always my favorite, and this particular session left me feeling so good. I love to chat with clients during a session to get them a bit more relaxed, and to try to coax out emotive and genuine interactions with their children. And that came so naturally to these beautiful people. Mom and I chatted for a bit after the session about her journey with virtual school during (and now post) COVID, and I was inspired to look into something similar for my own children when they're of age to do so. Good things can come out of the pandemic and I loved Mom's optimistic attitude towards it all.

For sunrise family sessions on the beach, I typically suggest a neutral color palette to tone down the golden sun and compliment it a bit, but I loved the yellow and blue and how it went with the colors in the sky and the water. Jeans use to be a thing of the past at the beach for portraits, but I'm loving them again! This is the third session recently where my clients went for a more casual approach and I think it has helped during every session for people to open up. You're just more comfortable when you're actually comfortable in what you're wearing, right? Seems so. Definitely suggesting casual moving forward if people are so inclined - they're your portraits, why not?

My favorite thing about this session, aside from Mom's great sense of style, was the genuine love this family shares, and those beautiful perfect smiles! I've never seen a group of people with such beautiful teeth! Probably helps that Dad's a dentist!
