One of the best thing about photography is the connections that you get to make, both as clients and as colleagues. When I started this journey nearly 10 years ago I never really thought about where it could take me. I just knew that I wanted to get out of my boring day job and do something meaningful and creative. Looking back I feel like I've accomplished that goal x10 over, all the while gaining so much more than I could ever have anticipated.

Years ago, when I first starting out, I joined the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP) and since then I've made so many connections and friends in this industry. Working alone can be somewhat isolating at times so it's important to make the effort to form connections, even if for the most part those might be on-line.

This photo session I had the opportunity to work with a longtime friend and colleague who works for NAPCP, and I was honored to be able to document their family's time together at the beach. A few of my favorites from the night. Sums up her sweet face, and genuine disposition. <3
