When a creative commissions you to do their family portraits not once but twice, it's a huge honor. So when my dear friend and colleague Ashley Berrie of Ashley Berrie Photography reached out to me to document her sweet boys during their summer vacation in Sea Island, Georgia I was so excited! I love working with other photography professionals. It's not often we get in front of our lens, so it's not something that I take lightly when trying to capture for photogs what they're always capturing for other families.

I've included a few of my favorite images in this post from our latest session together, but not all of them! I could have posted this entire session. As always, I love Ashley's choice in clothing, especially her dress this go-around. It's got such an island vibe, and it's a perfect example of how to do green right. When shooting on an island like Sea Island, you should keep in mind how much green there is going to be in your surroundings. Muted, neutral colors will work best and whites and creams will pop. Whether it's sunrise or sunset, when shooting at the beach think lighter, airy colors when dressing your family.

Be sure to check out their family beach session at sunrise in Amelia Island from 2018 here. Their 2021 session took place mid-morning, but sunrise sessions on the coast are equally as beautiful.
