The kid's playhouse is finally finished! We loved tackling this renovation and look forward to seeing them enjoy it. So far they're out there daily so I think this one was a slam dunk!
I especially enjoy the little touches we added like the matching gold hardware and fixtures, along with the little mailbox and picket fence. I added a special black and white ticking stripe curtain to finish off the pass through window area by the picnic bench and voila! Instant outdoor "house"!
We purchased the cedar playhouse from Backyard Discovery from Wayfair. It's the perfect blend of preppy and traditional, and has lots of fun, functional areas for the kids. Tip I would recommend doing is adding a decking underneath the base of the playhouse like we did with the faux RUNNEN grass from IKEA. It really helps the kids to play inside without getting eaten by bugs - a must here in Florida! Plus, if you have it on a deck or patio the house itself won't scratch the surface since it will be protected from underneath by the decking you've installed.

Rya Duncklee - The gold is actually all gold spray paint! I used a matte gold Krylon from Home Depot that we had on hand. No stain. Stain in this humidity, I would die...and...never finish this project! Haha

Christina - Thanks! Also did you use a wood stain for the accent color on the door and roof? Or is that a brass metal spray?!

Rya Duncklee - Thank you! We used Magnolia paint colors we had leftover for the pink, and leftover Benjamin Moore Simply White for the white since we already had it on hand. We sprayed it!
