Our Baby Jack turned 20 months! I can't believe how fast it went! With the move into our new home recently, and all that goes along with that, his 18-month milestone came and went so I knew I had to document his 1.5ish time asap! We've yet to renovate the spare bedroom so I thought what a perfect space for an organic and minimal, light and airy baby portrait session! The spare bedroom has a beautiful north-facing window that allows for soft natural light in the space throughout the day so all that was needed to slightly diffuse it was a sheer curtain. I placed that over the window and done! Instant natural light studio ready to make some baby milestone magic happen! A quick tip for helping to turn a spare bedroom into a small, workable studio space is to use white sheets of PVC from Home Depot. You can buy them in sheets and lay them next to each other so that the floors in the space blend with the white walls.

I've included a few of my favorite portraits from our brief little morning spent together below. As a Mom it's always hard to choose when you're the photographer, but I feel like this set totally represents our Baby Jack.

My favorite thing about this session was the toddler personality coming through. You can see where his prominent baby curls starting to fade, and the new toddler boy hair style is beginning to show through. It makes me so sad! I'm reluctant to cut off those beautiful curls because I know once you do it there's no going back.

As sad as it is to leave the baby stage behind in the coming months, I'm looking forward to this new phase of life with all that toddlers have to offer - the crazy chaos and the beauty all mixed in.
