Welcoming new members into my popular Baby Plan is always such a joy. I love meeting new families in general, but watching and documenting a family in those early years, and getting to see them grow is simply amazing. This sweet Mama had been following my work for a while so I was thrilled when she loved her maternity portraits as much as I did. The light and airy pastel skies on that warm summer evening on St. Augustine Beach made her maternity portraits sing - especially those last few I've included here! You can really see the magic that unfolded that evening. I always have my clients stay, if they can, a little past the Golden Hour, into the blue early evening light just as the sun kisses the horizon and dips below the tree line. For me anyway, that's when the magic happens, when the sky turns all colors of blue, pink and purple. When the light in the sky gets so soft that it creates this almost ethereal atmosphere.

Mama was such a great sport, and so was Dad too during this family photo session. And soon-to-be big sis' was so much fun to chase around the shore. I too have a 4 year old little girl so I know all too well the bright and energetic phase of childhood that 4 brings. I lovee capturing the early years and I cannot wait to document their new baby this weekend in their home!

I love the dreamy quality it conveys, and the way the dress Mama wore (from my studio closet) seemed to dance in the wind, almost looking like fondant on a cake. Pure magic.
