One of my very favorite things to capture for my clients are coastal pregnancy portraits. They are timeless and simple. I have been photographing a lot of maternity sessions recently, and I love that all of them have been on the beach! This beautiful Mama is expecting baby number two, but had not had any of her pregnancy documented when she contacted me. As a Mother of two little ones myself, I totally get not finding the time to make this a priority, but even if we just capture a few images, you'll be so glad that you made the effort. I only had one pregnancy portrait of my second pregnancy, but I absolutely cherish that photograph. It goes by so quickly, and your children will love having that someday.

We met on St. Augustine Beach at sunrise during the week, created a few beautiful portraits for Mama to keep forever, and that was it! Perfect, light and airy morning. Hot once the sun rises, but in the water it was fantastic! I loved that Mama decided to sit in the sand for a few at the end too. Those are always some of my very favorite images during a maternity photo session on the beach!

This is the third maternity client that has opted for either fully sheer, or mesh like we did here, and I am here for it! When you're having a photo session at sunrise, especially on the east coast when the sun is rising behind us shooting, anything that can enhance the backlight is the perfect choice - mesh, fishnet, tulle fabrics, crochet. These help to add texture and visual interest for your photos, and look beautiful when backlit on the beach.
