When one of my favorite clients contacted me to tell me she was expecting baby number THREE I knew exactly where I wanted to document this milestone - the coast, at sunrise. We were so lucky that morning too because we got an exceptionally long sunrise here in St. Augustine Beach with loads of clouds. Clouds at sunrise will give you a super soft vibe, allowing for a fine art look to your portraits. I also love how the soft light lends to an almost ethereal look to the water. Simplicity and movement in your maternity portraits are all you need for a timeless look. 

To date, this is definitely among my very favorite photo sessions I've created. I tried to incorporate a lot of solo pregnancy portraits this time around. This sweet Mama and I have been working together since their first baby, and just in case this happens to be their last baby, I wanted to be sure we paid extra homage to motherhood with their maternity portraits. My favorite thing about this maternity session, other than the light that morning, was Mom's choice in dress! I since have actually added this to my client wardrobe. It is so flattering, simple and timeless. My style exactly. I don't like to incorporate much into my portrait sessions. I like to keep things minimal, and focus on the sea and the subjects. You cannot go wrong with some great light, positive attitudes and a gorgeous outfit!

The pastel colors in the water and the sky we were blessed with that morning made for the perfect beginning to this family's third time in my popular Baby Plan membership. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to continue to document these fleeting first milestones for all of the families I work with.
