I've worked with this family a few times before, and I'm always impressed with how Mama wrangles together three girls! We usually meet up near my special beach spot near St. Augustine Beach, but this time we ventured a little north to Guana State Park and created some magical sunset family portraits on Ponte Vedra Beach!

For a sunset family photo session, you want to think about the colors in the sky and coordinate your family's outfits that way. At Guana, there is a beautiful dune backdrop that reminds me a little of Hawaii. When you shoot going down the coastline, you can see this beautiful, jewelled, green-hued dune that gives a magical vibe to family portraits. It's been a while since I photographed a family out at Guana, and it's exactly how I remember it!

I loved Mom's choice of outfits for this portrait session. The pale blue tulle and the flowy dresses gave an ethereal quality to the colors in the sky that evening. I always love sunset sessions here on the First Coast because if there is sun, it never fails to achieve a dreamy, pastel look for your family photo session.

Little Sis' was all about the shells that evening, and we captured a few candid, really special images of the girls playing together amongst the shells. I loved the images we captured with Dad as well. It's so important to include both parents individually during your photo session and not just focus on Mama. It's easy to do, as most men don't necessarily care for being photographed, but I always love it when Dad is a good sport! And the images that you'll create, especially when the children think that no one is looking, are timeless treasures they'll appreciate of their father.
